It’s probably the warmest day in Ireland so far this year, part of that heatwave rolling across Europe. No big weekend plans, so I figured I’d finally cross off one spot from my food wishlist Bare Food in Drogheda.
I’ve seen this place pop up a lot, but honestly, no one ever recommended it to me directly. Still, it looked good and today felt like the perfect day for it. Bare Food is one of the few spots in Drogheda that actually gives off a bit of a Mediterranean street café vibe. Even more so today, with the sun out and everyone in summer mode.
I managed to grab a seat outside, right on this skinny little street where people are constantly walking past. Somehow lucked out with a spot in the shade trust me, the heat today was no joke.
The Sandwich & Coffee

I went for the Bare Food chicken fillet sandwich, simple, fresh, not heavy like the deli style ones. It had a mild special sauce, packed with salad and it actually left me feeling full without the food coma. A nice balance.
Big oat milk flat white fan here. My unscientific theory is if a place does oat milk coffee well, their coffee’s probably good. And yes this one passed the test. Solid beans, smooth taste. A lot of places that serve food don’t really focus on their coffee, but this spot gets it mostly right.
Definitely planning to go back, maybe to try something else or just to chill with a coffee and a friend.
